Grade 2 Math: Add Three Numbers of 2-digit with Regrouping
Add Three Numbers of 2-digit with Regrouping
Now, we shall learn how can we add three numbers of 2-digit with regrouping. We shall know the easy method for this process. A 2-digit number has one ones place and one tens place digit only. When we shall add three numbers of 2-digit, then every number will have ones place digit and if these three ones place digits addition value is over 9, then the regrouping process will be applied. Let's know the process.
1. Add 47, 49 and 25
Solution:
47 = 4 tens + 7 ones
49 = 4 tens + 9 ones
= 10 tens + 2 tens + 1 ones
= 12 tens + 1 ones
= 120 + 1
=121 (Ans.)

121 (Answer)
|
|
- First we shall add ones place digits of 47, 49 and 25.
- The sum of 7, 9 and 5 is 21
- 21 > 9
- Tens place digit of 21 is 2 will be regrouped with the addition of tens place digit of mentioned numbers. And 1 will still stay in the ones place of the actual result of ones place.
- The sum of tens place digit and regrouping digit = 4 + 4 + 2 + 2 = 12.
- So, 12 will stay in the tens place of the actual result of tens place.
- So, the actual result is 121.
2. Add 58 , 36 and 43
Solution:
58 = 5 tens + 8 ones
36 = 3 tens + 6 ones
= 12 tens + 1 tens + 7 ones
= 13 tens + 7 ones
= 130 + 7
= 137 (Answer)
