subtraction word problems, read the following questions and try to answer them.

Tala had 8 oranges, he ate 3 of them. How many oranges are still left?
Solution:
8 – 3 = 5.
There are 5 oranges left.
2.
Britany bought 20 apples from a store. Her family ate 9 apples. How many apples
were left?
Solution:
20 – 9 = 11.
There were 11 apples left.
3.
Lima grew 50 roses in her garden. She picked out 32 roses. How many roses were
left?
Solution:
50 – 32 = 18.
There were 18 roses left.
4.
Ram had 36 marbles. He gave 29 marbles to his friend. How many marbles does he
have left?
Solution:
36 – 29 = 7.
He has 7 marbles left.
5.
Juli had 9 dolls but she gave 4 to her sister. How many dolls does she have now?
Solution:
9 – 4 = 5.
Juli has 5 dolls now.
6.
I have 9 apples. I eat 6 apples. How many apples are left?
Solution:
9 – 6 = 3.

There are 8 bikes in the shop. 2 bikes are sold. How many bikes remain?
